The consist, repeated and rhythmic use of emoticons seems to be a cornerstone in any romantic relationship. This series of works explores the glorious abundance of them and what they signify for romance, friendship and the construction of relationships over text messaging. The frequency with which they are used seems to represent or echo the intensity of the relationship between two people. The role they play in our relationships seems to be growing. Do they reduce and limit our understanding and interactions or do they rather acutely and accurately portray how we truly feel?
